Old Navy Matching outfits

I hope all you mommas had a great Mother’s Day weekend. I actually had a great Mother’s Day, Friday we went to see the movie Avengers Infinity War (A must see move!!) at a new theater near our house. Saturday we took my mom out to dinner and Sunday I celebrated with my little Family.

Now that Zoey is older (currently 6) it was really fun celebrating with her this year. She was excited to celebrate me and she tried so hard to be good that day. She even helped pick out my gift, wrote me something on a card and gave her opinion on what she wanted to do that day. I wish she can stay like this forever!! LOL. I really wanted to do something with her this year and one thing and one thing that she loves is doing pottery painting. She insisted on going for Mother’s Day so my husband found a little place by our house and we had so much Fun!! If you live in the Houston area and are near Cypress you should visit Color Me Mine. The ladies there were super nice and they had a nice little setup with muffins and fruits. We will be going back!

The best part of the whole day was doing this little fun photo shoot with her. We decided to take pictures that day for the blog and I knew I wanted to take photos with Zoey but didn’t have an outfit ready, (Honestly I was trying not to stress about it and just go with the flow. The day before I went into Old Navy and found THE CUTEST OUTFIT EVER! Sizes were running out but I was able to find some laying in the dressing room and just like that we had an outfit.

Now taking pictures with your kids is no easy task! Believe me been there, but Zoey is such a natural and we have done it before so it now she always ask to be in the pics. Here are some tips for taking pictures with your kids.

  1. Don’t sweat the small stuff!! Seriously a little messy hair does not hurt anyone. It also shows you in the moment with your little one. So don’t be scared of them getting dirty or running around and getting all sweaty, sometimes you don’t even see that in the pictures.
  2. Don’t make a big deal about it. I didn’t even tell Zoey we were going to take pictures together until the last minute. I told her come change with me and take pictures. She had already seen me do a few outfits and honestly she wanted to get in there and take pictures.
  3. Make it fun!! Play a little music in the background and dance around for a few minutes. Let Her/Him take a few photos with your phone camera so they get excited about it. You never know maybe you can catch some really good moments in your photos.
  4. Last piece of advice don’t just look at the camera! Interact with each other, make conversations or make each other laugh. Make it a game and see who poses better (sometimes they have the sassiest poses! Lol)

I hope some of these tips help you. They also don’t all have to be with a professional camera, use your phone.

These are matching outfits from Old Navy. How cute are these tops and so affordable!!
